Taideteollinen Näyttely is a new, student-led art exhibition concept that highlights the creativity of Aalto University students and recent graduates. Rooted in artistic expression and community, the initiative seeks to spotlight the excellence of artistic practice born within Aalto while fostering dialogue across disciplines and audiences.
The project emphasizes sustainability not as a commodity, but as a critical and emotional space for reflection. By foregrounding ecological grief, climate anxiety, and systemic critique, the exhibition aims to reframe sustainability as an existential question and invite collective confrontation, care, and dialogue. In this way, it contributes to a deeper cultural sensitivity toward the socio-ecological crisis of our time.
The first edition of Taideteollinen Näyttely, opening in October, will transform Tapiola’s architectural landmark Keskustorni into a total artwork. Featuring 12–15 artists across disciplines, it will present thesis projects, course works, and experimental side ventures, ranging from sculpture and poetry to sound art and more. The inaugural theme, “Art as a way of living with destruction,” curates works that engage with today’s crises while offering audiences an open, transdisciplinary space for reflection, encounter, and new understanding.
