Student-driven projects to become Campus Sustainability Champions
This year, two student-led projects were selected as Campus Sustainability Champions. The awards were presented at the annual ACRE Day on 9 October 2024.
The team consists of representatives of Aalto University, the Student Union (AYY), and Aalto University Campus & Real Estate (ACRE). For many years, the team has been a concrete promoter of sustainable development activities on campus, both at the level of new ideas and practical implementation.

The Campus Sustainability team also organizes events for the entire Aalto community on the theme of sustainable development at least twice a year. The team is motivated by adaptation to climate change, the promotion of well-being, natural capital, green spaces, the reduction of emissions and costs, and the smart use of resources. The team's main responsible at ACRE is Satu Kankaala.

This year, numerous community-submitted proposals vied for the title of Campus Sustainability Champion.
The Campus Sustainability Champion was chosen for the sixth time already. The winner was released on ACRE Day 13th October.
The campus sustainability champion was chosen now for the fifth time.
As part of the national Energy Awareness Week, Campus Sustainability Team arranged a Sustainable Campus Event on Wednesday 7 October 2020. The programme was very varied and full topical themes, such as urban miners and the James Bond of the circular economy. In addition, the Campus Sustainability Champion was now selected for the fourth time.
