New! Pilot for teachers: Participate in teaching-related events and earn credits

Teacher Services is piloting a new concept: In addition ÄûÃʵ¼º½â€™s pedagogical training, we offer the possibility to earn ECTS credits through active participation in various activities, that support teaching, such as shorter trainings, community events, and pedagogical peer activities.

The activities-to-credits pilot is a low-threshold pathway for pedagogical development for Aalto’s teachers, where you accumulate ECTS credits from short teaching-related trainings and events. Participate, report, and receive an official completion (1 ECTS = 27 hours), making your professional development visible. Through these activities, you have an opportunity to get to know Aalto’s teaching community and can receive support for your own teaching. The pilot can be, for example, your first contact with pedagogical training or a good addition to your overall professional development plan.

By participating, you’ll get:

  • An official course completion (1 ECTS = 27 hours) and recognition for participating in Aalto’s teaching community events and shorter trainings
  • Timely support, ideas, and networks to develop your teaching
  • A structured summary (attachable to your teaching portfolio) of your development and activities

How it works:

  1. We will open the registration form and publish the list of activities in August 2026. The registration form will also serve as the tool for documenting activities throughout the process.
  2. After registering, you choose activities from the list we provide to participate in during the academic year 2026–2027. Activities include, for example, trainings in digital pedagogy or AI, community events such as Marsio Presents: Creative Teaching, or other pedagogical peer activities. After participating, you record the activity in the form and, once the required number of hours is reached, submit the form for review. Teacher Services will record the approved completion as ECTS credits in Sisu.
