Responsible assessment of researchers at Aalto

Aalto University is part of (CoARA), whose focus is on recognizing the diverse outputs, practices and activities that maximize the quality and impact of research. This requires basing assessment primarily on qualitative judgement, for which peer review is central, supported by responsible use of quantitative indicators.

Publication analysis should only be used when relevant for recruitment, and only to support qualitative evaluation. The publication analyses for the Tenure track system are always carried out on the basis of the applicant's CV and list of publications and based on the consent given by the applicant. Declining the use of publication analysis must not affect the progress of recruitment.
