EIT Certificate and EIT Graduation Ceremony

Upon completion of the degree requirements of your both universities (entry and exit), you can be awarded a Master of Science degree or similar from both. This may not happen automatically, so make sure that you request for graduation according to the local rules of both universities.

Graduates of EIT Digital Master School who graduate from both universities and fulfill the other requirements for the EIT Label will also receive an EIT Label Certificate. This is usually given at EIT Graduation Ceremony organized by the Master School (subject to annual funding) in November. All graduates fulfilling the criteria will be invited.

In order to qualify as graduate you must have submitted your thesis for evaluation and applied for graduation. In other words, in order to be eligible to the EIT Digital Graduation Ceremony in the end of November, as an exit student of Aalto you should:

  • Submit your thesis and apply for its evaluation in MyStudies
  • Apply for graduation in Sisu

Note also that EIT has further requirements for participating the EIT Graduation Ceremony (e.g. upload your Proof of Internship by the given deadline). You can read more about the EIT Graduation Ceremony and the requirements from the under tabs 'Graduation' and 'Study progress'. If you have any questions about the EIT Graduation Ceremony, please contact masterschool@eitdigital.eu

Degree certificate and graduation events

Aalto University will start issuing electronic degree certificates as of the beginning of the 2025–2026 academic year. The electronic degree certificate will replace the traditional paper degree certificate for those graduating on or after 1 August 2025.

The festivities of future ceremonies are currently being planned and decisions regarding them will be made in Autumn 2025. Paper-based certificates will be issued for the last time in the ceremony of 8 October 2025.

If you have graduated on or before 31 July 2025, please see below how to receive the degree certificate.

If you need any statements before your certificate is ready (e.g., statement of graduation, student status), please contact studentservices@aalto.fi.
