Product design and development

While some of Aalto's master's programmes focus more on processes and services, the following studies give a chance to study the design and development of products. They offer a blend of artistic expression and technological expertise. From concept ideation to product development, the studies revolve around themes such as design thinking, material investigations, user experience, prototyping, and sustainability.

Note! In the Game Design and Development programme, it is possible to study a degree either in the field of arts, or technology. Each field has its own programme page below.

Service design

These studies offer a comprehensive approach to understanding the principles of service innovation, design thinking, and user experience. Students learn critical, strategic, and technical competencies and capabilities needed in design innovation processes. They will also gain an understanding of areas such as service development, design management, interaction design, and systems thinking. This prepares them with the skills and knowledge needed to lead design projects and take on key roles in shaping the future of companies and communities.
