MFA identification mandatory for students
MFA (Multifactor Authentication) is a standard method for protecting cloud services. MFA identification will become mandatory for students during the spring. MFA is already in use by Aalto's staff. It offers better protection for user accounts because in addition to the user name and password, a potential attacker also needs access to the additional authentication method you specify.

Cups printing server will be shut down 28 February 2021
The use of the cups printing server (cups.hut.fi) will end 28 February 2021 due to the security reasons. The users of the server should update their printing settings.
MFA multi-stage identification mandatory in Aalto from 8.2.2021
Additional authentication method (MFA 2FA) will be activated on 8 February 2021 for all members of the staff. In the future, you'll need additional authentication (a phone app recommended) when you sign in to Office 365 services from outside Aalto's network or from your home computer.

There will be a service break in Zoom on Sunday 6 December from 01:01-02:00 EET. After that Zoom client version 5.2.0 or newer is required to join a meeting. If you try to join with an older version you will be advised to upgrade.
