New open hours at Arts infra workshops
All ARTS infra workshops will have new open hours from 13.9. onwards. The workshops will be in three different categories which will have different schedules. Most workshops will be longer open in the afternoon than currently.
Changes in student travel expense reimbursement
The Finnish tax authorities have clarified the guidelines for reimbursement of study-related travel expenses. In order to comply with the new guidelines, Aalto University has developed a process for reimbursing the travel expenses of degree and doctoral students.
Campus restaurants are opening their doors
In the beginning of September, lunch options on campus will increase significantly as many student and staff restaurants reopen their doors to customers.

Outdoors areas and pedestrian routes will be improved near Otakaari 1 and Dipoli
The pedestrian connection from the metro to Dipoli and the Amphitheater Square area will be improved during the autumn of 2021. The aim is to create comfortable, versatile, safe and accessible outdoor areas, respecting original design solutions and implementations. The construction sites will start already in August.

First in Finland: Fireproof charging cabinet for electronic bicycle batteries at Aalto University metro station
The City of Espoo and LatausPolku Oy are launching charging cabinets for electronic bicycle batters at three major transport hubs in Espoo: A Bloc in Otaniemi, Pikkulaiva in Espoonlahti and Iso Omena in Matinkylä. Finland’s first fireproof charging cabinet was put into service in Otaniemi, Espoo, in April.
